Cancellation and refund Policy

At Colocal, we completely understand that life occasionally throws curveballs. Because we specialise in customised and tailor-made journeys, we often start securing non-refundable elements of your adventure (like internal flights, specific accommodation bookings, or national park permits) well in advance. Therefore, we’ve designed a policy that aims to protect both you and us.

Our main goal is to keep this process as straightforward and fair as possible.

Cancelling your trip

All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email. The date of cancellation will be the day we receive your email.

Up to 30 Days

70% refund of the trip price paid, minus the deposit*

20 – 29 Days

50% refund of the trip price paid, minus the deposit*

Less than 20 Days

No refund

*Refund Policy (Excluding Non-Refundable Costs)

Non-Refundable third-party costs

When booking a customised trip, we make specific arrangements with third-party suppliers that are often non-recoverable. This includes, but isn’t limited to:

  • Internal Flights within Colombia (tickets are often issued early)
  • National Park Entrance Fees or special permits
  • Certain unique accommodation reservations (particularly boutique hotels)

If you cancel, these non-refundable costs will be deducted from your total refund amount (in addition to the cancellation charges and deposit). We will always provide you with a detailed breakdown of these costs.

Making changes to your journey

We appreciate that small tweaks may be necessary during the planning process!

  • Minor Amendments (More than 60 days before departure): We allow reasonable changes to the itinerary without an extra administrative fee, provided the request is made more than 60 days before the departure date. Any associated supplier fees (such as higher flight costs) will be passed on to you.
  • Major Amendments (Less than 60 days before departure): Changes that require rewriting the itinerary, new flights, or changing destinations may incur an administrative fee of €150 per person, plus any additional costs charged by suppliers.

Our strong recommendation: Travel insurance

Given the bespoke nature of our trips, we strongly recommend you purchase comprehensive travel and cancellation insurance immediately upon booking. Please ensure your policy covers costs arising from unforeseen cancellation (due to illness, family bereavement, etc.) and any delays or disruptions during the trip.

Your peace of mind is paramount! If you have any questions at all about these terms, our friendly team is here to help you through them.
